Estrela Apartment
Almost intact since its original construction from the late nineteenth century, the apartment showed a strong character given by the high plaster ceilings and by the communicating living rooms. However, its original spatial typology included small rooms with no windows, which had served the purpose of storing.
The project aimed to preserve the original features of the apartment, such as decorated plaster ceilings, wooden floors, doors and windows. It also created a new system of inhabiting the inner compartments, transforming them into the most significant social area of the apartment: the dining room.
